My name is Logan Ferris and I received my bursary as a second year music student at the University of Manchester with organ as my first study instrument. I was awarded a bursary from the Brereton Memorial Fund over the summer to aid my attendance on the Royal College of Organists Summer School, in which I learnt a tremendous amount about the art of organ playing and accompanying – skills which I am continually implementing into my playing as Organ Scholar at Bolton Parish Church. This scheme to help young organists is truly wonderful and I, amongst many others, am extremely grateful for the financial support they offer to make the experience of learning such a wonderful instrument possible.
